Germany, China opens up credit line for two plans of IMIDRO

Tehran, Dec 28, IRNA – Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and trade Mehdi Karbasian said on Wednesday that Germany and China opened up credit line for two joint venture investment in graphite electrode in Ardakan city and aluminum plant in Jajarm city, northern Khorasan province.

Karbasian, also the head of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), said that following implementation of JCPOA, the international reputable companies have welcomed to develop partnership with Iranian partners to carry out joint venture investment projects in Iran's mine sector.

He said that for Jajarm aluminum project a contract was signed with Chinese company providing 46 million euro for two years credit with interest rate of zero.

A German company has supplied equipment with 40 million euro credit to implement graphite electrode projects and it is for three years period.

Karbasian said that since 10 to 12 years ago a technological gap was created in the sector of Iran's mine, when international companies disconnected their ties with Iran, and now are gradually coming back to Iran.

He stressed that in Mehdiabad Zink Mine, Yazd province, and Zarshouran Gold Mine in West Azarbaijan province, foreign advisors are being allowed and in the field of environment, the Norwegian advisor is hired.

Karbasian said that value of projects underway between Iran and China over the past three years, was more than 20 billion euro from which 4 billion was in the sector of mine and mine industries.
